This also comes in handy when hanging it on the wall.</div><div><br></div><div><div><div><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-50WqDBuWxxo/WFvbMkP1fDI/AAAAAAAADuQ/l5VhxxdhEdI/I/photo_999806.jpg" border="0" class="bloggoimg"></div><br>Bend the wire hanger into the shape you would like your wreath. I decided to go for the classic circle, but you can probably make another shape if you wish.</div><div><br></div><div><div><div><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-9Cq2E_Dvgw4/WFvbM2ujN6I/AAAAAAAADuU/52Maz_s0Nr4/I/photo_885387.jpg" border="0" class="bloggoimg"></div><br>I purchased 6 packages of these ornaments from the dollar store in small and medium sizes. You can use the hot glue gun at this point to glue the caps on the ornament to make them more secure. I did not use hot glue for mine and they were fine. A few of them popped off but I just reattached them without the glue.<br><br></div><div><div><div><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-FrWcEsaH2k0/WFvcKrNw2dI/AAAAAAAADuk/dW-AHDEz5m8/I/photo_92488.jpg" border="0" class="bloggoimg"></div></div><div><br>You begin to thread the ornaments onto the wreath as if you were beading a bracelet. This project was very easy and took about an hour to complete. If you decide to hot glue each ornament I would set aside another hour for this DIY. </div><div><br></div><div>I hope you enjoyed this DIY project and love your wreath as much as I love mine! </div><div><br></div><div>Please let me know if you have any questions or if there are any other DIY projects you would like me to do a tutorial on. </div><div><br></div><div>Happy Holidays!!! </div><br><br></div><br><br></div><br><br></div><br><br></div><br><br></div><br><br></div><br><br></div><br><br></div>Jaynehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12920854744212055894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2873165354140483327.post-26310325586956808602016-02-11T02:12:00.001-08:002016-02-11T02:12:11.080-08:00DIY Star Wars canvas!My nephew is a big fan of Star Wars and wanted me to draw him a picture to hang on his wall. I had an extra canvas laying around and decided to paint one for him instead! This was a quick and easy project and you can choose any image to paint.<div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTD5w_sktC7uKiXjznsyQNg-ub7wYstUKpatrnb-Z8T2vurUr_TX8AH8J-dz-rX2rziQUphNXSqbRUVqWUYu0awtmIgQB3WSk8aOLAbzRlLu-EqNZ6b7GSqpjonRb1m5xyiFAaZm3P/s640/blogger-image-185404241.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTD5w_sktC7uKiXjznsyQNg-ub7wYstUKpatrnb-Z8T2vurUr_TX8AH8J-dz-rX2rziQUphNXSqbRUVqWUYu0awtmIgQB3WSk8aOLAbzRlLu-EqNZ6b7GSqpjonRb1m5xyiFAaZm3P/s640/blogger-image-185404241.jpg"></a></div><br></div><br><div><br></div><div>Supplies needed:</div><div>1 canvas </div><div>Pencil to draw outline</div><div>Acrylic paint in colors of your choice</div><div>Metallic spray paint (optional)</div><div><br></div><div>The first thing I did was spray paint the canvas in a metallic silver to get the shiny background. </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I then used a pencil to draw the outline of the image. If you are not the best at drawing you can simply print out any image you are choosing to draw and then trace the outline on the canvas. The impression of the pencil will create an outline for you to re-trace in marker or paint. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I then used black paint to draw the outline of the storm trooper. Originally I left the metallic silver as the background but then decided to go back and fill it in white. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlWpo0oTMfBtNx9W9usjn5gU7FTHfxl9LnRTLvQoABCERtxGgZO1JTdz-RvktPfi5UwYc7mrWTanoWGS7ILmw2CHRwIRimn-Mu4_Hond7ixBSpMbTbuKH07jBP4ZEBmdZdvKTCNUoZ/s640/blogger-image-1671344299.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlWpo0oTMfBtNx9W9usjn5gU7FTHfxl9LnRTLvQoABCERtxGgZO1JTdz-RvktPfi5UwYc7mrWTanoWGS7ILmw2CHRwIRimn-Mu4_Hond7ixBSpMbTbuKH07jBP4ZEBmdZdvKTCNUoZ/s640/blogger-image-1671344299.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I finished by painting the letters and touching up any areas that needed a second coat.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Easy project and a one of a kind to hang on the wall! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><br></div><div><br></div></div>Jaynehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12920854744212055894noreply@blogger.com18tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2873165354140483327.post-4428169813886888422015-05-20T08:22:00.003-07:002015-05-20T08:29:48.552-07:00DIY fire pit<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div>I live on an acre and love any excuse to be outside and enjoy the space. My boyfriend and I wanted to build a bonfire for us and our friends to enjoy smores by the fire. We saw many DIY ideas on Pinterest and decided to give it a try. It came out perfect and everyone loves to enjoy time surrounding the fire!<div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcsi4AqBmv-_iUG446uSPfOuQf0suK10R4_cEae9GfY9OCKkJrr2eUc3TFpZfpPghd6sMAFnwSDQen1e7Im38Ot4z-6uQn2Hr5OwlGNwihUnqV_YJodUFqxGbyVRUauVWSjAC-BncV/s640/blogger-image--2137027709.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhcsi4AqBmv-_iUG446uSPfOuQf0suK10R4_cEae9GfY9OCKkJrr2eUc3TFpZfpPghd6sMAFnwSDQen1e7Im38Ot4z-6uQn2Hr5OwlGNwihUnqV_YJodUFqxGbyVRUauVWSjAC-BncV/s640/blogger-image--2137027709.jpg"></a></div></div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">We purchased these center blocks from Home Depot for $1.15 a piece. I would say purchase 20-36 depending on the size you want. You can use two rows or three rows. We also purchased a bag of gravel for the bottom of the bonfire. You can make it bigger or smaller depending on the size you are trying to achieve. You can purchase a fire pit but they are much more expensive and I like how it was something we made together! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Place the center blocks in a circular shape or any shape you want. You can stack them right on top of one another or stager them like you would bricks. We used 12 each row and made two rows. We put 6 more on the top like it shows in the pictures but it is not necessary. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">After you put them in place you can fire it up and enjoy time with friends and family and some smores! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjjyAaytZpeR-f48ERdVnr7p37iRY679GqIX1OLY2LE1lVRzNJFfA3tx4SGFqKXjaSKhyFYOqjjxLbhKngr4qUWeU1NYkc-PbodG-WImpsubnGsZ0B0eHu1KRIKov3Tuqx8HrX88Dn/s640/blogger-image-606978686.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjjyAaytZpeR-f48ERdVnr7p37iRY679GqIX1OLY2LE1lVRzNJFfA3tx4SGFqKXjaSKhyFYOqjjxLbhKngr4qUWeU1NYkc-PbodG-WImpsubnGsZ0B0eHu1KRIKov3Tuqx8HrX88Dn/s640/blogger-image-606978686.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQ4UkQu877sS9B2TZ1kU3SmAG7N78IOXvtYIDOC4duTZAeMLblyukXDYBloaZLw2q0GxA70tM8hMvljOv-YjbqrVvUoCtILlna1De1lttVNFUmURFW2oyn-B9I0bvTDKz1omIkog5K/s640/blogger-image--524713675.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQ4UkQu877sS9B2TZ1kU3SmAG7N78IOXvtYIDOC4duTZAeMLblyukXDYBloaZLw2q0GxA70tM8hMvljOv-YjbqrVvUoCtILlna1De1lttVNFUmURFW2oyn-B9I0bvTDKz1omIkog5K/s640/blogger-image--524713675.jpg"></a></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf63lLWB7YKh-9RI_aBEiiZ2kuf9ENY7DRxsJIKAXRjG5YYZsQwa3GdxBBUV6AOt1EcIj18Dx19VZ4FcqxYo9iI0ryHlrmR07TZ3o_PdGGIKCuaiGHIcGBS50F85s0M02-Xnrb9FXx/s640/blogger-image--1313307476.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf63lLWB7YKh-9RI_aBEiiZ2kuf9ENY7DRxsJIKAXRjG5YYZsQwa3GdxBBUV6AOt1EcIj18Dx19VZ4FcqxYo9iI0ryHlrmR07TZ3o_PdGGIKCuaiGHIcGBS50F85s0M02-Xnrb9FXx/s640/blogger-image--1313307476.jpg"></a></div></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjWisQqcYY3zzrqRCVRG_OBSzu0lMbvQNh8nYMoucZPDarpeSOzKzImP9NiM39fq4Kk2Lbyx9cgxDJ2WbZR3whyNkyFjKK1u4EdOzbxS9OZFEtrzxHbBd9_EpTs7yOvKf9DYvis68B/s640/blogger-image-895790878.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjWisQqcYY3zzrqRCVRG_OBSzu0lMbvQNh8nYMoucZPDarpeSOzKzImP9NiM39fq4Kk2Lbyx9cgxDJ2WbZR3whyNkyFjKK1u4EdOzbxS9OZFEtrzxHbBd9_EpTs7yOvKf9DYvis68B/s640/blogger-image-895790878.jpg"></a></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-axQ3bc6kUi33FbVWRmmES3G7_xZqsTE9JgD1ACuqUa-Kg9cd_Mzzh2C0FO-WbohCgFJIXpenggJCeaN79lBwTi4M2dymehELxMUgxXZmQrzQWnj9SqB7AK1vdunhnTCveqgRFVuF/s640/blogger-image-1750755053.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-axQ3bc6kUi33FbVWRmmES3G7_xZqsTE9JgD1ACuqUa-Kg9cd_Mzzh2C0FO-WbohCgFJIXpenggJCeaN79lBwTi4M2dymehELxMUgxXZmQrzQWnj9SqB7AK1vdunhnTCveqgRFVuF/s640/blogger-image-1750755053.jpg"></a></div><br></div><br><div><br></div><div><br></div></div></div>Jaynehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12920854744212055894noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2873165354140483327.post-61383778827990931302015-05-20T08:22:00.001-07:002015-05-20T08:29:41.812-07:00DIY benchesMy last post showed how to make a DIY fire pit and thus post will explain how to make benches. They place their unused pallets behind the store. I asked them if I could purchase some and they said they are free. I am not sure if certain stores have different policies or not. I have also heard you can get them at Whole Foods. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I bought a cheap can of paint and they mixed the color of my choice. I thought teal would be a nice color. didn't get any special paint because they are going to be outside. Any indoor/outdoor paint will be fine. The full gallon cost $15 but I believe for the 3 pallets I could have gotten away with half a gallon. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">In order to create a pocket for the plants I used cardboard and mesh material. Do this before painting. You cut the cardboard in a rectangular shape the size of the space in the pallets. Using the mesh you staple it on the outside on the back and the front. This creates a holder for the plants.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBzhVe-fm7ZTTiAPl6zIG1xUQmSrrLlI-2m-98drbqM6EaGZPv9BANBQ8i2iAaAoxEtnF38ufal_PyFeAEZcudV3mVHcCkhllYMkKeVglknp_UIzBEH_AkfBuvb4i2wcF7jPEBpVQg/s640/blogger-image-693586913.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBzhVe-fm7ZTTiAPl6zIG1xUQmSrrLlI-2m-98drbqM6EaGZPv9BANBQ8i2iAaAoxEtnF38ufal_PyFeAEZcudV3mVHcCkhllYMkKeVglknp_UIzBEH_AkfBuvb4i2wcF7jPEBpVQg/s640/blogger-image-693586913.jpg"></a></div><br></div>This close up shows the mesh in the front stapled. It was so easy to make the props I thought I would share. <div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFFUBoeX_Bc_KH7V7hfes38h2C78eA9-CT5STkWZ_GIpl917Zp1fIiWrDJV8yF5uCNImAmc0F5rUZLSqX-qYa4NpKp3Mu3MCuvnK-CjjHLV0YpZqJinPQaUrEp85UaWNrmc4ERuP4M/s640/blogger-image--617253193.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFFUBoeX_Bc_KH7V7hfes38h2C78eA9-CT5STkWZ_GIpl917Zp1fIiWrDJV8yF5uCNImAmc0F5rUZLSqX-qYa4NpKp3Mu3MCuvnK-CjjHLV0YpZqJinPQaUrEp85UaWNrmc4ERuP4M/s640/blogger-image--617253193.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><br></div><div>First I will start with the booth it self. I bought some foam board and cut it too look like a Polaroid picture and just wrote on the bottom "Engagement Party". It was hung from the ceiling and was definitely a blast for everyone to use at the party! </div><div><br></div><div>There are also different ways where you can have a photographer or rent a reel photobooth for your wedding but they can get pricey.</div><div><br></div><div>I've also noticed that the props are pricey too if you buy a bundle of them or they go back with the photo booth rental. I made mine and I can reuse them time and time again! </div><div><br></div><div>What you'll need:</div><div>-foam paper (found in the craft isle)</div><div>-Popsicle sticks</div><div>-craft glue</div><div>-scissors</div><div><br></div><div>First I had to decide what props I wanted to use. </div><div><br></div><div>I drew on the foam paper mustaches, top hats, lips, glasses, ties, champagne glasses, necklaces and much more. Whatever you want! If you are having trouble deciding or you have a certain theme you would like to meet you can just google ideas.</div><div><br></div><div>If you aren't very good at drawing you can print out images to trace onto the foam paper. </div><div><br></div><div>Second I cut the foam pieces out with the scissors and glued them onto the Popsicle sticks! Then you are finished and ready to invite your friends and start taking pictures!! </div>Jaynehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12920854744212055894noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2873165354140483327.post-71128217288994980882014-06-22T15:38:00.001-07:002014-06-22T15:38:55.359-07:00DIY Bridal Shower<div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div>So a friend of mine is getting married and I am more than happy to add my touch of creativeness to decorate! <div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRPNnquPSLdNcU1LCEHBDMnKdBDlWkApJMAhjMWcjFBvE7iXQkFn6rotOo5bHr9Itk2VTO52HEOc1bLLalU1v2PpTOGiKujfwc4yP8omzGo3zP35M3BoWX5VSQFaozR8zlh9uA-E7M/s640/blogger-image-1276883239.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRPNnquPSLdNcU1LCEHBDMnKdBDlWkApJMAhjMWcjFBvE7iXQkFn6rotOo5bHr9Itk2VTO52HEOc1bLLalU1v2PpTOGiKujfwc4yP8omzGo3zP35M3BoWX5VSQFaozR8zlh9uA-E7M/s640/blogger-image-1276883239.jpg"></a></div><br><div>She wanted a wine theme so I thought that burlap, corks, and of course wine bottles would be the perfect touches!</div></div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD3t-zJz1XndgaKcZ1Hw3Qr1ncnhDpI18WVvpbDOuZU9PWrRq2EsJG1cF_9WkTN2a98h9Lo3u04mti0BG9aEHbdtesJLhNw2DbN8yXrb9bke35SVFNsFJ4m3S2a8nU4bI8F_Fn56D_/s640/blogger-image-815580049.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD3t-zJz1XndgaKcZ1Hw3Qr1ncnhDpI18WVvpbDOuZU9PWrRq2EsJG1cF_9WkTN2a98h9Lo3u04mti0BG9aEHbdtesJLhNw2DbN8yXrb9bke35SVFNsFJ4m3S2a8nU4bI8F_Fn56D_/s640/blogger-image-815580049.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Her new last name begins with an S so we took olds corks and cut them in half to not use as much and to fill in the spaces! I saw a cutting board with Walter White on the front that said "let's cook" and thought it would be something he would like and would look cute hanging in the kitchen! I saw a cutting board online for $40 plus shipping and handling. That's where my DIY comes in! <div><br><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCAgmh790cxc2bffIuT_r3K10WBznRLVPewN1Z_5hkYhvgfx2NHbmBniZ4keqAxtZUebSqW0UHrSjXYZmt6R943VkjqJsIOWKVfLoYAAIAFBPSyEhDRQ_5-501noFzaHHfNItN94rW/s640/blogger-image-350501417.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCAgmh790cxc2bffIuT_r3K10WBznRLVPewN1Z_5hkYhvgfx2NHbmBniZ4keqAxtZUebSqW0UHrSjXYZmt6R943VkjqJsIOWKVfLoYAAIAFBPSyEhDRQ_5-501noFzaHHfNItN94rW/s640/blogger-image-350501417.jpg"></a></div><div><br></div><div>This project takes about an hour and the total cost was $6.00 for the cutting board and other household supplies.</div><div><br></div><div>What you need:</div><div>Cutting board</div><div>Paper</div><div>Pencil</div><div>Pen</div><div>Tape</div><div>Marker color of choice (I used brown)</div><div><br></div><div>First what I did was sketch the drawing on a piece of paper just to be sure if I had to make any changes I didn't have to keep erasing on the cutting board it self.</div><div><br></div><div>You can choose to draw anything you want on the cutting board and make your own design as well.</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipESfOCTR2-U7TQHOB62C5YYFNBSAltXsY9gX2XfZLva6NFsy5W8iVvd3-4eGhpFkQqNg6Oqe2JR5S_X-1VwN5Hdr-dIXY5_2huf8o0WTNva_wvR1Xgr_pNYNKnJAtqqVD_SzxBzdl/s640/blogger-image-1009191256.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipESfOCTR2-U7TQHOB62C5YYFNBSAltXsY9gX2XfZLva6NFsy5W8iVvd3-4eGhpFkQqNg6Oqe2JR5S_X-1VwN5Hdr-dIXY5_2huf8o0WTNva_wvR1Xgr_pNYNKnJAtqqVD_SzxBzdl/s640/blogger-image-1009191256.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Once you are finished with your drawing position it on the cutting board where you would like it to lay and tape the piece of paper on the board to hold it in place for tracing.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">What you do next is use your pen to trace the lines that you have drawn. So I found a quick and easy way to store them and add the cute factor. This is a no see project and takes about 5minutes!! Enjoy!!<br />
<br />
What you need:<br />
paper towel roll<br />
scissors <br />
fabric <br />
pins <br />
& of course headbands ;)<br />
<br />
The first things you do is place your paper towel roll on top of the fabric and cut it to size....make sure you have it wide enough to stuff the ends. <br />
<br />
Fold one side about an inch fabric side down (as shown in the picture). <br />
<br />
Wrap the fabric all the way around and secure the middle with a pin. I used about four pins for the whole length of the towel. <br />
<br />
The last step is to stuff the excess fabric into the paper towel roll and give your headbands a new home! <br />
<br />
I had an extra strip of fabric that I folded over and decide to hang the bows and flowers for my hair!! <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
I made this skirt over the summer and have had many compliments and a few of my friends would like me to make one for them! I decided to make the same skirt but in white...and oh the possibilities when it comes to dying the white fabric. I love this skirt because it is so cute and comfortable to wear.This skirt is very easy to make if you can follow a few easy steps. <br />
<br />
The first thing you need to do is make an elastic belt. If you already have an elastic belt you can use that for measurement. You can also measure against your own waist but pull a little tight how you would wear it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4bnaGSG51kCz30ARH0krXXANvEV5YODy4xRhVPCCnYN-ilaW1eXc9mUiGZAnC080S82mRmr0bQUkg8AH-qLNAkYVho1CpKefeH00H-uZsog_5AvGeurT0ObbUWqnh3dEALfUrfd5B/s640/blogger-image--881473214.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4bnaGSG51kCz30ARH0krXXANvEV5YODy4xRhVPCCnYN-ilaW1eXc9mUiGZAnC080S82mRmr0bQUkg8AH-qLNAkYVho1CpKefeH00H-uZsog_5AvGeurT0ObbUWqnh3dEALfUrfd5B/s200/blogger-image--881473214.jpg" width="150" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk5xUc11vJKBHPRakUN-zxAcEt0pLQXoyNc_Y084eu3I6EiMyeXLnho49ph8TucZgS0x3tmHQ705okp1aDdn0NfhKb_rzGhxF0koE62L9MfADkgXbiBaiImY3_MPo-j85K2_2OBb3w/s640/blogger-image-702006501.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk5xUc11vJKBHPRakUN-zxAcEt0pLQXoyNc_Y084eu3I6EiMyeXLnho49ph8TucZgS0x3tmHQ705okp1aDdn0NfhKb_rzGhxF0koE62L9MfADkgXbiBaiImY3_MPo-j85K2_2OBb3w/s200/blogger-image-702006501.jpg" width="150" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj14WggvLFoCc1y1NhZqI3yn-qrp2enb8-RJU_2nMmheTzCXfPxSp8V2-_FNXB-VZ1WzZO_jTDY3LT5rfk8goIhQ-5PwcDhygGK-sIS2J74g-96bz546QONhcbx3KWQMsp5rdyejeZn/s640/blogger-image--1969316205.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj14WggvLFoCc1y1NhZqI3yn-qrp2enb8-RJU_2nMmheTzCXfPxSp8V2-_FNXB-VZ1WzZO_jTDY3LT5rfk8goIhQ-5PwcDhygGK-sIS2J74g-96bz546QONhcbx3KWQMsp5rdyejeZn/s200/blogger-image--1969316205.jpg" width="150" /></a></div>
Then you need to decide how long you would like the skirt. I am only 5ft so my skirt is about 40 inches long, starting at my waist down to the floor. I made it about 1.5 inches longer to finish off the edges. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGftGD-1FcUFa0mKd25QwVYhz_ZSkVpJ8QjgoIswuzojfDfdZR9-eDSXT0kyrp8VTspP_g2aIagSLpNEyYnEqzr3Pr7jfvYwzlHBtWV2JNIsi4s4ZWbgbhYQWWoQQA7FAoTOq69iv3/s1600/IMG_8592.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGftGD-1FcUFa0mKd25QwVYhz_ZSkVpJ8QjgoIswuzojfDfdZR9-eDSXT0kyrp8VTspP_g2aIagSLpNEyYnEqzr3Pr7jfvYwzlHBtWV2JNIsi4s4ZWbgbhYQWWoQQA7FAoTOq69iv3/s320/IMG_8592.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
The skirt is made out of two pieces of material that over lap at the sides. The larger panel of material covers the back side and the front piece makes the slit. The back panel measures around the back and stops around where your hip bone would be. You want to make both of these panels 3-5 inches wider to save room to gather. If you do not gather these pieces of material it will not have the flowing look. The front panel is about an inch longer to cover the front of the skirt.<br />

<br />
This was such an easy project and it has such a special meaning behind it!<br />
<br />
All I did was cut out different size circles and glued them onto a square sheet of scrapbook paper.<br />
<br />
I found pictures of my family and went to CVS to have them blown up individually to fit the circle.<br />
<br />
I finished it off by drawing the base of the tree and the leaves with my markers and glued other circles to fill in the page.<br />
<br />
You can play around with the position of the circles before you commit and glue anything down. <br />
<br />
Perfect for a gift for a family member and it is something they can cherish for a lifetime :)<div class="separator"style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggvrst2C4Lwvxel7hEMlyedwStZt-hXngsvy1puabm_7YL1Ci7S7VqW7YmRSF3O8LElZWSpD31QY8gKAfV2sxumZE_Sgrkyu16t6RtfbcOmy-nZibpuhIYlqJF59QGz76pg7B9xAT9/s640/blogger-image--699666958.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggvrst2C4Lwvxel7hEMlyedwStZt-hXngsvy1puabm_7YL1Ci7S7VqW7YmRSF3O8LElZWSpD31QY8gKAfV2sxumZE_Sgrkyu16t6RtfbcOmy-nZibpuhIYlqJF59QGz76pg7B9xAT9/s640/blogger-image--699666958.jpg" /></a></div>Jaynehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12920854744212055894noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2873165354140483327.post-53511965812708672242012-08-08T13:13:00.001-07:002012-08-08T13:34:41.891-07:00french leopard print nails<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the poka-dots you can use a toothpick or the tip of a pen. I normally put a drop on a piece of paper so I can dip the toothpick and make the dots. For the black circles I also use a toothpick and dip it the same way but just use it as you would a pen. Make sure there isnt too much paint on the tip or it will bleed once it hits your nail. You can also buy the nail pen which I have bought at Wal-mart and it is a lot easier. Put your top coat on and you have a super cute mani! <3 </div>

Perfect for all the football parties we will be having! Yummyyyy!!!<br />
<br />
For the chocolate covered footballs I used bark chocolate and melted it down. Dip the strawberries and they dry quickly. I used white cookie frosting to make the lines. super cute, easy, and so good!!<br />
<br />
For the dip I first put in the queso and I used some chips in between to separate the 3dips. Then I spread the guacamole in the middle (McCormick guacamole dip is my favorite!) and then I filled the last part with salsa. you can take the chips out after you are done filling the pan and it will stay in the form. I then put sour cream in a ziplock bag and cut the tip to use like it was frosting to make the end zones and the yard lines. <br />

So I am in the process of moving and have had to go through all of my old clothes and I'm left thinking do I donate it or recreate it. I have a room designated for my closet alone and I have filled three garbage bags full of clothes to donate but of course I took out the stuff that gave me a vision to make something new!<br>
<br>
The first thing in the pile to recreate is a poka-dot sweater that was probably my moms way long ago!<br>
<br>
From and old sweater to a new dress for me!! Yay!!<br>
<br>
How To:<br>
This was super easy to do!<br>
1. Turn the piece of clothing inside out.<br>
2. Place fitted dress on top and pin the sides.<br>
3. Sew the sides and cut off the excess.<br>
4. Cut the sleeves 1/2 inch to 1 inch longer than you want them to be for a seam allowance.<br>
5. Fold and sew the edges while it is still inside out.<br>
6. Put on and time to partyyyy! <br>

Do you have a favorite quote that you wanted on a shirt that you could wear? <br />
<br />
Well easier done than said lol <br />
<br />
I grabbed a 20pack of puffy paint for $15 at Walmart and have every color I could think of including glitter!!!<br />
<br />
So far I have only made one shirt and once it finishes drying I will cut it up into a tank <br />
<br />
I will put more up as I make them :)<br />

<br />
I bought white jersey knit fabric for another dress I am making and decided to use that. This material is good because it is stretchy and slinky and perfect for the draping effect when you wrap it around.<br />
<br />
You can use 1 yard which would cover the length of the dress. I trimmed a few inches because I am really short and I used it to braid the straps for the dress.<br />
<br />
The length is 3 ft, 36 inches and width to this particular fabric was 56"<br />
<br />
SUPER EASY to measure because all you have to do is wrap the material around you :) <br />
